January Indoor Flying
I am working on some options for our next indoor session in Porters Lake and would like to get some feedback on what you would prefer.
It looks like Monday and Thursday nights are available from 8 to 10 pm for most of the winter. I know this is kind of late on a "school" night, but it looks like our next possible opening with an earlier time-slot would be Saturday 24 Jan from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
I'll be out of town from 9 to 19 Jan (but still in touch through the forum), so Bill will be honcho-ing if you want to go for a weeknight spot. Let me know your druthers and I'll book the session based on the greatest interest.
Thanks,
Vic

Monday the 19th looks like the first night open for me. I really itching to fly but I've got meetings Monday and Thursday next week.

Re: January Indoor Flying
I would hope that we could avoid Saturday the 24th, as that is the draw date for our HEFA Raffle, the time being set at 3pm., at 15 Akerley Blvd, which is a Tim's location.
My hope is that those interested could meet at Tim's anytime after 1pm and sort of hang out during the next couple hours. At some point a couple members that I have asked to be "trustees" for this raffle will do an audit to verify that all names on the "ticket sales list" do indeed have a ticket stub in the box. Then sometime after 3pm we will have a rep from Tim's select the winning ticket.
I also hope that members will take advantage of a last minute purchase to push our ticket sales from the present 45 to a respectable total of 60 or more.
It is unfortunate that we cannot get a 3 hour evening time slot. I think with the traveling involved, three hours is more likely to improve attendance.

I'll make myself available for any of the times decided.
You can count on me attending, I need the stick time.

Thursday nights are better for me than Monday nights. I wonder if the gym at NSCC Akerley Campus is available in the evenings.

Bummer, evenings are very difficult for me, especially during the week. The Saturday times of the last few sessions worked best for myself.

Re: January Indoor Flying
Okay, indoor flying is a go for Saturday 24 Jan!
The schedule has opened up due to other cancellations at Lake and Shore Community Centre, so I have booked the gym from 0900 to 1200 Sat morning. That leaves the afternoon open for members wishing to attend the big draw for our HEFA raffle.
It's been cold and nasty lately, so lets all get together for a comfortable indoor session next weekend!
Cheers,
Vic

Sounds fantastic Vic, fly in the morning, travel to Tim's Akerley for 1pm, and indulge in some excellent grub.........Wow..!
Glad to have it work out this way.
I'll have Gary send an email to ALL members regarding the events of the day.
thanks Vic,
