Re: HEFA INDOOR FLYING SCHEDULE - Fall 2015/Winter2016
Another nice group of 14 flyers and one guest today, so we are staying in the "black"....thanks guys..!
Nice variety of models today, with several guys even doing FPV indoors with their quads..! Nice to have Al from ASRCM visit us..!
And how about that blue and yellow "Stearman Bipe" ....another nice one from Horizon.
Next session is on Dec 5th, 9:30am. Last HEFA session for this year.
cheers,
Bill

Re: HEFA INDOOR FLYING SCHEDULE - Fall 2015/Winter2016
Hey people...we are "inside" this Saturday, Dec 5/15, for the last Indoor Flying session for this year, so take some time to relax with fellow modellers, before the bigger demands of the season occur..!
Some of you have not experienced the "rush" of Indoor Flying..! It's where the "field" suddenly gets very small quickly, and the walls seem to jump out at the planes...! It all results in a lot of laughs.
Come on down the 107 to Porters Lake..(Lake and Shore Community Center, just after Exit 20), join in the fun whether your flying or watching, and when the dust settles at 12:30pm maybe take in a brew at the local Tim's..!
cheers,
Bill

Re: HEFA INDOOR FLYING SCHEDULE - Fall 2015/Winter2016
Eleven Flyers today, on a day when activity was also available at the Shannon field; so our numbers are holding.
Next indoor session at Porters Lake will likely be a SUNDAY event on Jan 17th., 2016 9:30AM., but more on that from Vic shortly.
Between now and then we may have a "free" session at the Lake Echo facility, as they want to repay the Club for a demonstration put on last year. More on that from Vic as plans unfold..!

Yes, we are so far a go for Sunday morning guys.
The weather may have potential to play into this if the snow continues beyond Saturday night and adversely affects road conditions for Sunday morning. That being said, I will post a cancellation notice on this forum if need be, but so far it looks like the precipitation should end Saturday night.
All going well, I look forward to seeing you Sunday morning!
Cheers,
Vic

Re: HEFA INDOOR FLYING SCHEDULE - Fall 2015/Winter2016
Guys, I'm waiting to get a phone call from the lady who is supposed to be opening the centre for us. She will let me know if it will in fact be open for us this morning.
I suggest you don't leave home until you check this forum for confirmation.
Thanks,
Vic

Re: HEFA INDOOR FLYING SCHEDULE - Fall 2015/Winter2016
I just got off the phone with Kate at the Ctr. She is willing to open for us (she lives only 5 min from the ctr), but I am concerned about the road conditions and people's willingness to drive any distance this morning.
She is being very accommodating and has given us the opportunity to delay our session. Personally I think a delay until this evening would be ideal, giving folks lots of time to shovel and do family stuff. How about from 6 to 9 pm tonight?
I need to get an idea of interest before I commit. Please respond asap so that I can get back to her.
Thanks,
Vic

Tough call. I would suggest that later might be better just because of the late hour. 845am now means that even getting to the Center for 940ish is getting more difficult.
This evening might be better although it remains "hit and miss" for members!
