Protection for foam models

Johnson's Future Floor Shine is pure acrylic and self leveling. You can literally wipe it on with a cheap foam brush and if you have runs, just hit again. Only ammonia will remove it. Great stuff for foam paint jobs. Plus it is cheap.

What does the ammonia do to the foam when you try to remove the acrylic?
Nothing like the smell of electrons in the morning ;-)

Why remove it if it protects the foam...?

As the ad for the "chairlift" says..."to prevent injury from falls....JUST DON'T FALL..!"

(Just a guess, but perhaps the combination of ammonia and acrylic results in a foam eating condition)

The only real protection for foam models, or for any model airplane for that matter, is some sort of restraining system that allows hanging from the basement ceiling, there to stay forever. Lol
