Re: Shearwater Hobby Show - April 7-8, 2018
I've picked up (75) 8-1/2" x 11" colour handouts for the show, and have some business cards as well. The lack of handout materials had been previously identified as a "miss" so hopefully we will be in better shape this year.
Turn-out for the manning the tables is remaining quite low from HEFA. The membership participating at the AGM were certainly supporting HEFA involvement in this initiative. Any other interest as we approach the weekend?
Thanks,
Brian

Brian, just to let you know that I have the HEFA banner in my possession and will bring it tomorrow afternoon for the set-up.
Cheers,
Vic

Thanks, Vic, for setting-up the tables... it looks great!
Note that additional set-up is available today until 9 and tomorrow 8am-10am, before the grand opening!
A quick reminder of the slots tentatively filled and open - all easy to change and any participation would be welcomed.
Saturday
You will note that there is a lot of space for models. When you go, please bring along a few typical models to discuss! As John O'S has mentioned previously, any type of plane or flying craft would be representative of our activities at HEFA.
I've put out some business cards (in a "custom" 3D printed business card holder!) as well as roughly 50 copies of our information sheet.
Let's rally and use this as a great opportunity to reach out to the community and to promote our great clubs!

Note to all....typically, Exhibitor badges have been issued to those persons participating in the displays, but there are not enough to go around this year. So when you show up for your shift at the entrance to the Sea King Club you will have to explain that you are with the HEFA display or they will ask you to pay admission.
I plan on making a donation anyway (as the museum is a worthy cause) but be aware you might have a delay entering over the weekend.
See you there!
Vic

Weekend plans have changes so Adam and I are able to drop by this morning to help out for a while.

I never crash, I just create exciting ways to meet the ground. After all, take-offs are desirable, landings are inevitable.

Thanks for the update - Bruce and Adam!!! I am thinking that I might shift my schedule as well - I will bring a few planes / quads as well as the club trainer for the 10am opening. Not sure how long I will be able to stay but certainly until after lunch....

Good group of HEFA representatives at the show in the morning - thanks to everyone for chipping in and to support this event. A little lighter in the afternoon and the crowd also seemed to be less as well.
Lots of HEFA planes / quads / VTOL / gliders on the tables.
Some quick pics are below.

Re: Shearwater Hobby Show - April 7-8, 2018
I wanted to send out a big thank you to all who participated in this weekend's Hobby Show!
The event was a success from the standpoint of the Aviation Museum and I think both HEFA and SRCF garnered some interest/potential members for our clubs.
Thanks also to those HEFA and SRCF members who came or stayed behind today to help the museum staff in the clean-up and re-organization of the tables. This assistance was, as usual, greatly appreciated by the event organizer, Christine, and many hands made short work.
Thanks, and see you next Sunday for indoor flying at the Shearwater gym!
