Farewell to HEFA / Nova Scotia

Unread post by Mchurcher45 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 11:27 pm

Gentlemen,

My wife and I recently sold our house and we have relocated to the east end of Ottawa. I was able to get some good flights with my Apprentice about 7 Oct. I was planning to fly on Sunday, 22 Oct as the forecast was excellent but I came down with a bad case of nerves (do I really want to risk crashing on my last flights at SP) so I did not get a chance to say thank-you and goodby.

I've really enjoyed being a member of your club for the past three years. The support I have received from all members regarding technical issues on how things work and advice on how to fly better has always been excellent. A special thank-you to Brian Gray for his patience and skill in teaching me to fly (or at least get off the ground and back down again safely). As the saying goes, learning to fly well takes lots of "stick time."

I'd also like to thank my miracle airplane, the Apprentice. Considering the number of nose plants it has done, it is probably a little shorter than originally built. I think I have broken and repaired most components more than once and it still flies well. What a great machine!

Thanks for everything and I wish continued success for HEFA and all members,

Mike

Sorry to see you go, Mike. We have enjoyed your presence and participation at SP and certainly wish you the very best in your future and upcoming RC flying. It is too bad that you were unable / concerned with flying to come out again one last time to SP.... never stop flying!!!! Get comfortable. Push a little further - and get comfortable with that "move" - and push a little further again. Lots of stick time! And be sure to have fun with everything that the hobby offers - including the friendships!!!

Be sure to come back to the field if you are in the area! And stay in touch!

Brian

Congratulations on the sale of your home Mike and welcome to Ottawa! I see that you relocated to the East end and I am now located in the West end , Kanata/Stittsville area. It was always a pleasure flying with you at Shannon Park and I am sure you will continue enjoying the hobby at one of the several flying fields located in and around the Ottawa area! I currently fly out of Dunrobin and some of our members will drive an hour or so just to fly at our field! (I am told it is one of the best in the area) Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance with your planes or if you just wish to grab a coffee sometime! Just pm me an I will send you my coordinates!
I hope you enjoy your new home and good flying in 2018!
Tom
