Re: Slope Fest 2017!
Slope Fest 2017 Postponed...again!
Due to the unfavourable off-shore wind direction forecast for both Saturday and Sunday, Slope Fest 2017 is unfortunately again postponed.
Luck of the weather has not been with us this year, it seems. We will need to postpone to Saturday 23 (Note Change) September. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to those planning to attend from away.
Thanks,
Vic

I thought I should post this as a lot of us missed the edit for the date change from the 16th. Chris H pointed it out to several of us on Sat.

Yes, thanks Andrew....I had no indication of a date change and thought it was still on for the 16th.
So the 23rd it is...hopefully..!

Re: Slope Fest 2017!
Just checked the weather forecast for Sat 23 and Sunday, and it does not look good.
Very light winds from the wrong direction and FOG.
Maybe the hurricane will bring a change to more suitable strengths and direction (but not too much)

Re: Slope Fest 2017!
The date change was made to the MAAC Events page at the same time I edited the post on HEFA. Sorry if some folks weren't aware.
As John said, so far the weather forecast doesn't look especially favourable, but we are still 5 days out, and we know how accurate the forecasts are around here.....
Here's hoping.

Hey Guys,
It is starting to look promising for this weekend! I think Sunday is looking like the main day, although there might be some SW wind starting late on Saturday as well.
Keep your weekend open, and stay tuned to this bat-channel for more updates!
Cheers,
Vic

Re: Slope Fest 2017!
Came across this nice weather map
https://www.windy.com/?44.498,-62.872,9
World wide zoom with incremental projected winds over several days. Looks like our impending hurricane is going to lose strength and dissipate.
This and other forecasts predict some hope for suitable slope winds for parts of Saturday and Sunday.
