Shearwater Hobby Show April 8-9/2017
We have received an enquiry from the Shearwater Hobby Show staff asking if we are entering the show this year. The dates are April 8 & 9.
Please respond here if you wish to donate some time on these days to man a table on behalf of HEFA.
It generally requires eight to twelve members over the two days to divide up the time periods.
We should have a decision in place by Feb 15th., since there are a limited number of tables available.
thanks,
Bill

I would make myself available for at least one full day.
This is a very important fund raiser for the Shearwater aviation museum, and provides an opportunity for possible new members to be introduced to the club.
I would suggest that there be cards or at least a printed sheet of information about the club, available upon request from folks interested.
I would be pleased to provide such, if I were given some of the pertinent info (Contacts, field locations, training programs available etc;).

Kevin, we do have some cards that could be given out to those showing a real interest. Example is below.
There was also a poster made up a few years back that gave good details of our field setup; I'll see if I can locate that.

This is excellent.
I will find a way to get them from you before the show and have them for distribution.

Re: Shearwater Hobby Show April 8-9/2017
I have had a discussion with Vic about combining the resources of both HEFA and SRCF for this year's participation at the Hobby Show. We both agree that with a limited participation from both Clubs, this could allow the two Clubs to be represented, as well as showcase the different facets of each Club.
I've had additional input from other HEFA Directors who are onboard with this idea.
So it will be my recommendation that we proceed to reserve six tables for the show and that we keep our display models limited such that we can show models from several facets of the hobby. For example: Trainer, Sailplane, Aerobatic, Indoor, Float plane, Helicopter, Multi-copter.
I'll edit the first post to include the names of those who can donate time to man the tables throughout the show.
