10/4 Mike...!

..and thanks guys, you are coming out of the woodwork in grand style..!

I have located the "long lost" DEMO board to show newbees the operation of the electronics in our planes, so I'll be bringing it along as well as a HEFA poster and calling cards.

Thanks for volunteering guys! And thanks, Bill, for bringing the demo board. That is an awesome display that really helps to uncover the "magic" of RC control to the public.

OK Vic, I'll let you go ahead and communicate the requirements regarding number of tables, etc, to the museum coordinator.

As we approach the event we can discuss who brings what in order to have at least one item to represent each facet of the hobby.

Another three or four volunteers would be nice, so keep the numbers coming please..!

Guys, we are two weeks away from the Hobby Show of April 8th and 9th.

I believe the set up for the TWO Clubs will be a total of six tables so I encourage members to limit the size of their models to those that will comfortably sit on a 30 inch wide tabletop. Our course the glider folks can use tripods if necessary to raise their models off the floor, as that makes an excellent way to display them.

The many facets of the hobby, including wheeled models, seaplanes, indoor models, gliders, helicopters, and multicopters can be displayed as long as we try to limit it to one model of each class, I would think.

As we draw nearer to the date, you can post the time you are available; we will require people for setup Friday evening, as well as actual open time on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. I know some of you have already posted your available times.
We will try to follow this up with an actual schedule.

thanks,
Bill

Hi Guys,

I'm posting a list of models that Vic has drawn up for the show, and I've put in some names of those that may have the respective model for display...Can you please let us know if you can commit, and if your name is NOT on the list, and if you can bring a model, let us know.
..thanks.
Bill

Models for the Hobby Show

1) Apprentice Trainer ................ Vic

2) Turbine Jet..................

3) Gliders: .......................................John O'S and Andrew Smith, and John Fennell
a) pure glider (thermal and slope)
b) motor glider

4) Large Scale.................Trevor F.

5) Sport (Glow)...............

6) Sport (Electric) ................... Mike Churcher

7) Multi-copter ........................Trevor Fennell

8) Helicopter (glow or electric) ..........

9) Indoor:
(a) scale ...................Vic
(b) 3-D ....................................Bill Foster
(c) micro-light (Ember, etc)

10) Foamy Scale Electric..............

11) Electric Ducted Fan Jet...........

12) Sea/Floatplane ............Brian Gray

..some setup notes from Vic,

I would also ask that each person bringing a model also provide a sign with some basic information about the model (type, size, weight, power-plant, etc) . An 8-1/2" X 11" piece of paper will suffice for this.

I would like to see these models brought to the set-up on Friday afternoon/evening, so that we can have most everything in place prior to Saturday morning. At the very least, we need the models on site by 9 am Saturday morning and have them picked up at the end of the event on Sunday afternoon.

SRCF is planning to have club pamphlets available to hand out to the public with general info about the club as well as contact information. I would suggest the same for HEFA.

I will be picking up the plastic table covering and will bring the HEFA banner. My intention is to be at the Sea King Club by around 2:30 Friday afternoon to start setting up.

Bill,

As we determined, I'll bring my Corsair for display.

To save me a drive from Tantallon, could you schedule me for the Friday night set-up or the last shift on Sunday?

Thanks,

Mike
