WARBIRD EVENT 2016 - Truro, July 2nd.
I sometimes think our members "don't get out enough"..out of town to other flying fields I mean..!
So I want to bring to your attention that the Annual Warbird Event, hosted by the Atlantic Regional Director for MAAC, Regis Landry, will be held at the Truro field on July 2nd ., 2016. There is no entry fee, and lots of flying. Only requirement is that the model must be a replica of a war plane, and that does not only include fighters and bombers, but I believe (and hope) that it also includes those planes that transported the Generals, or the Medics..!
Anyway, it would be great if HEFA could be represented by a dozen or more flyers, so give it some serious thought....we could all meet locally and proceed to a "breakfast rendezvous" at the Big Stop, before going to the field.
LATER EDIT: Directions to the field are here: http://www.mast-rc.ca/page7.html

I fully endorse Bill's recommendation, guys.
I attend this event every year and enjoy it immensely. Well worth the drive to Truro.

OK guys....time to make a plan regarding attending the Warbird event in Truro on Saturday JULY 2nd, 2016.
You know that if you don't attend, you will regret it...that's what everyone says; so make up your mind that your going...!
Here's a suggestion; we get on the road around 7AM, with the idea of meeting at the local MacDonald's in Truro around 8AM for breakfast; then proceed to the airfield for a 9AM start.
So far I have spoken with Bob, Brian and Louie, so with Vic and myself and at least a couple more from SRCF we should represent this area nicely, but it would be great to have another six or so...!

Hope the event goes off well despite the threatening weather.
Unfortunately I had to pass on this one. Several small things did not come together as I had hoped, so this event remains on my "bucket list" for now.
Look forward to seeing pictures, so if you have any, post some here.

Re: WARBIRD EVENT 2016 - Truro, July 2nd.
In spite of the somewhat less than ideal weather forecast for today, the actual conditions in Truro were surprisingly good and the event was again a complete success.
The winds were variable but quite light at times in the morning and picked up to a moderate cross-wind later in the morning. Temperatures were very comfortable and there was no precip whatsoever for the duration of the event, only high overcast clouds to be seen.
HEFA representation was, unfortunately again this year, very low - which is too bad, as it really is a great regional event.
