Re: stadium at Shannon
Well, here we are, nearly four years later, and finally the CFL is going to present "their proposal" for a stadium to HRM Council this week.

Re: stadium at Shannon
..Update from Canada Lands Company, today.
Thank you for being an important stakeholder of Canada Lands Company. As we near summer’s end, we wanted to provide an update with regards to Shannon Park and a possible community stadium on part of the site.
The proponent behind the proposed community stadium, Schooners Sports and Entertainment (SSE), has recently stated publicly that it will soon submit its business case to Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). It is important to note that while Canada Lands Company provided information and property data to SSE pertaining to the site and the integration of a community stadium into the overall Shannon Park development, Canada Lands Company does not have a role with regards to the submission of the business case or its approval.
By way of background, in 2018, with the full support of HRM, SSE approached Canada Lands Company about potentially acquiring a section of the Shannon Park site for a community stadium use. Canada Lands Company agreed to consider this use. In March 2018, Canada Lands signed a Letter of Intent that outlined specific conditions that SSE must meet before it would consider any sale of land to SSE. These conditions include:
• SSE and HRM are required to undertake public engagement with the community regarding a community stadium use;
• HRM and the Province indicate to Canada Lands Company their support for the community stadium in the interest of municipal and broader regional community benefit;
• Canada Lands Company and SSE coordinate efforts with the Millbrook First Nation and their neighbouring development plans; and
• HRM approve a revised concept plan – one which includes the development principles supported by the community during Canada Lands Company’s initial consultation process.
To date the conditions outlined in the Letter of Intent have not been fully satisfied. As required by Canada Lands, SSE and HRM will be conducting public engagement. The nature and timing of that public engagement is the responsibility of SSE. We encourage you to participate in this process to make your views about a community stadium known. Canada Lands Company will continue to keep you informed as the process moves forward.

Re: stadium at Shannon
Welcome to "September" ...finally a "stadium proposal" has been submitted to HRM staff, who will review it for maybe a month and then staff will give their recommendation to Council, who will then vote on the proposal ...one way or another.

Wow, first time I've seen the actual plan for the stadium. I always thought it would be built in the area on the other side of the fence. We really will lose the field. Looks like the school will lose their field and parking are too.

I never crash, I just create exciting ways to meet the ground. After all, take-offs are desirable, landings are inevitable.
