Lawrencetown Slope Fest 2015

Unread post by CF Av8or » Sun May 10, 2015 10:12 am

It now looks like the only weekend date open, to avoid conflict with any other regional event, is Saturday 22 August.

Unfortunately, I think it may cause some key players to miss it, but I'm at a loss to pick a better date. I wanted to go with the weekend of the 15th, but there are currently 4, yes, count 'em 4, events on the MAAC website for that weekend!! Then I thought that I might try to make it on Sunday the 16th, which only conflicts with one event, but that doesn't leave a rain-out day.

So, unless anyone has a better suggestion, 22 Aug (with a 23 Aug rain day) is tentatively the date I am going with.

Standby for further....

AWESOME Poster! I have last year's poster pinned up in my office. This will one will be added, too! I'm definitely more round than square, so I'll be there! ;)

This event is truly one of the highlights of the year and one of the best RC events going in the Atlantic. I love watching the reaction of seasoned power pilots who get their first taste of sloping. Joy is in the air!

Weather looks a bit treacherous for Saturday. winds relatively light from southeast to south at 10 -15 kph. However rain and thunderstorms may happen. We'll make the most of it.
I'm heading for Ireland on Sunday and long term forecast is for rain every day for the two weeks I'll be there.
Can't win!!

Yes, John, you are unfortunately correct. The current forecast doesn't look especially promising at this point. Nevertheless, I'm not about to make a call just yet - we all know how accurate Environment Canada can be - not!

Let's hope they are way off base again this time....

I'll definitely be there!
I have the Zagi charged, The Weasel taped together again, and my 20+ year old Sagitta ready to go.
Can't wait.

Hoping they're wrong but the Weather Network is forecasting NE winds for both Sat and Sun. Which would make anything else a mote point.
