BBQ #2 - Let's Celebrate our Lease Renewal
We are hoping to have another BBQ next weekend - Saturday with a raindate on Sunday. Our last BBQ was on the Mother's Day weekend, so it is *only* fitting that we are now having this on the Father's Day weekend. We'll definitely be shooting as much as possible for Saturday to keep our Sunday free.
There are many fun fly sessions starting so we would like to do this now to avoid the local activities. And yes, this is interfering with the Cape Breton event.
We have discussed the possibility of evening flying through the week, maybe on a Wednesday evening. There *could* be the opportunity for a BBQ at one of these sessions too. Looking for feedback / interest from members on this possibility.
Hoping that you can make it!!!

What a FANTASTIC event!!! Thanks to Bill for picking up some more supplies, and for Bob for tending the cooking!!!
Good turnout with great weather!
Grabbed this shot from my Phantom 3. You will see quite a new path recently cut in the thorn bushes.... these would have taken a real machine to cut through!!!

Missed the BBQ 'cause...
AC and I couldn't make the BBQ as we were doing a different kind of flying.
Moncton Flight College has a Diamond DA40 simulator that the Flight Sim Nova Scotia club was able to rent for a couple of hours.
Here is a shot of the actual plane. and here is one of the sim cockpit, which is full size for the actual aircraft. Here is a video of AC's last approach and landing at Moncton International.
Nice landing inspite of the fact that he and Charlie( in the left seat) both died about 5 min before when AC went about 20 knots over the Vne( velocity NEVER exceed) during a "split S"and ripped the wings off .

Oh! And a thank you to Don for cutting the paths in the bushes opposite the field. We used them today and it SURE WAS GREAT.
Also - a big welcome back to Paul and Shelley.... Paul was flying his Apprentice before I arrived this morning and was eager to get his wing into the air. After some servo reconnecting, expo changes, servo reversing and rate adjustments - and then trimming - it flew and it flew great!!! Thanks again to everyone for chipping in to get this in the air with adjustments, suggestions and glue!!!
Next week is the fun fly at ASRCM and there will be a contingent of people from HEFA going to that event. Be sure to check for updates at their website http://www.asrcm.ns.ca/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya ... ion=recent. More to follow on that as the week progresses.
