Well.... about a dozen people at SP when I arrived near 915am. What a day! Started a little cooler and light winds; to warm and then back to "perfect" temperatures with moderate winds.

Nice to see the Mavic 2 Pro from John and Mark (Flitelab); also the maiden of Murray's new P47 (required a demonstration flight due to the size of the plane).

A video of the maiden has been posted to the HEFA Facebook website... https://www.facebook.com/HalifaxElectri ... 464188623/

The weather is looking good for the next few days! See you tomorrow!

Yet another great day. Smaller crowds after 3 days of flying..... nice to see Logan and family back at the field... Logan is still flying great - lots of comments from the flight line about his skills!!!

I arrived late and only had a few flights... one of which was the Radian. Thermals...thermals.... thermals. I had to force it out after a time as it kept climbing. See the graph below. Red is battery... you can see it recovers to a base voltage after the climb - and green is the altitude. It wanted to soar and would have stayed at altitude for some time!!!

Had to leave at 9 and it was only Bob and I. Got a few good flights in though.

I too had a strong thermal at Shannon today. Model appeared to be climbing nearly as fast as if it was on power. Eventually had to leave the thermal as the model was becoming almost invisible. Some of the strongest thermal activity I've seen at Shannon.

At noon teamed up with Al Coolen, Chris Dean, Kevin Baker at Lawrencetown for some great sloping. Highlight was when Al launched without turning his receiver on and his model ended up about 50 metres into the water. Brave Kevin Baker stripped off and swam out to retrieve the model. We finished up around 3pm, Just as Denis Bellfontaine arrived to fly. Temperature was a balmy 25 deg and wind was 25 kph very smooth and right on the hill.
