August 19 - Sunday!

Well - another great day at SP! A smaller turnout today of maybe a dozen flyers. Winds started low and then built as the morning progressed to result in a fairly significant westerly - a definite crosswind to contend with on landing.

Some interest from some new people at SP:
  • Tom (had him up on a flight - he was there with his 6 yr old grandson Isaac) is an avid modeler in "sailboats in bottles" as well as wood carving. Tom had a 10 minute flight and then had to run (literally!). He returned near noon just as the wind was at the peak and many of us were packing up. Tom suggested that he would definitely be back to continue his introductory flight. Isaac was quite interested in flying and would be ok in beginner mode on the Apprentice for a short duration flight.
  • Rob (?) who indicated that he was planning to go to the new trail with his dog and stumbled on us. He has past experience with control line.... and the world of the newer models is certainly new to him. He decided against an introductory flight but I am hopeful that he will be back - perhaps with his son!
Fun times, for sure!

The summer is (unfortunately) winding down but the best flying of the year is yet to come!
