Weekend January 27/28
Family schedules have finally lightened-up for one weekend and I am looking ahead at the weather forecast.... Saturday is looking like LOW winds in the morning but cool, with both increasing temperatures and winds as the morning progresses.
Let's shoot for a good turn-out at SP on Saturday! Sunday is looking far too windy but that can work out ok for the Shearwater indoor.
I'm ready with a new FunCub for a maiden and have lots of other "faithful" planes just itching to get in the air!!!
Hoping to see you there!!!

There is a 2pm meeting scheduled by the Avon Club to be held at 1700 King St, Windsor, NS on Saturday.
I thought they called this their "Spring" meeting because last year it was held in March. Maybe this year Spring is coming earlier..!

Look what I did. Floats on the Cessna for snow or water. Will it fly? Hopefully we'll see tomorrow.

I never crash, I just create exciting ways to meet the ground. After all, take-offs are desirable, landings are inevitable.

Looking cool!!! I’m sure that it would be great on snow.... how easy is it to convert back to wheels?
Tomorrow early morning is going to be cold.... we’ll all need to dress warmly!

The morning started off cold but with very light winds - so ultimately a great combination. It warmed up to 0°C as the morning progressed and the winds also picked-up just a little. Just a few people out to take advantage of this fine morning.
Our friends at Shearwater are (hopefully) hosting the indoor tomorrow - dependent upon a member from SW participating. 10:30 to 12:30pm. I am about to search out some batteries as I have not flown indoors for well over a year....!

Well, maiden on floats didn't go so well. Got in the air, but extra weight and drag and cold fingers put me into the grass at the edge of the field. Unfortunately, the impact broke the plastic mount where the wire landing gear attaches to the float. Oh well, I'm sure it's repairable. Anyway, swapped out for wheels and flew a while that way. Great day with a few other flyers.

Bruce,
It looked close to a great take-off. Such little rudder control makes a take-off challenging!

Great turn-out this morning at the Shearwater Gym! Quite a few HEFA members were able to participate.
Special shout out to our colleagues at Shearwater Flyers - and especially to Vic!
Thanks again!

I stopped by SP in the afternoon today. The field was a bit damp but I was surprised by the low winds and pleasant temperature. Got in three flights on the Tundra, wish I had charged more packs.
