November 18/19
So... it doesn't look like a great weekend. Saturday is the better of the two but it will be fairly windy. Great for those with a stabilizer Sunday is rain and very high winds.
I am going to try to get out for at least a little on Saturday but as I am on driving duty with my son, my time will not be as much as I would otherwise hope.
I am not planning on bringing the trainer....

Yes, not looking good for this weekend. Looks like I'll have to do some of those chores around the house that I've been putting off. On the bright side it'll be too windy to rake leaves. Whew....or if my wife is reading this I mean darn it.

Just a few (crazy!) people out this morning - Louis, Tyrone and me..... and not there for long!
Hopefully next weekend will be better!

Dodging high wind this morning and working on my new 1 metre Electric MiniMayfly. Photo of progress and second Mayfly which has been waiting for finishing since February.

Looks great, John! What is the wingspan of the original MayFly? 2 me? How do you anticipate that performance will vary between the two? Similar wing loadings?

Fuselage, radio, motor and tail group are 54 grams without fuselage pod covering. Wing before covering is 16.6 gm (just over a half ounce).
I expect the final weight to come in at about 3 ounces ready to fly. Wing span is 1 metre and about 180 sq.inch.
Full size 2 metre Mayfly is 16 ounces ( 4.0 oz/sq ft). The electric Mayfly I've been flying all year is 17 oz. with motor.
MiniMayfly should come in at 3.4 oz/sq.ft Motor is a Turnigy 1811-1800kv weighing 10 gm.
Mini Mayfly should be perfect for slow indoor and calm outdoors.
