Weekend - September 15/16, 2018

Well - here we are in Halifax under a conserve water order and others in the hurricane belt are being inundated with too much water... It is snowing in Alberta and hot here on the east coast... Overall, quite a difference! The hurricanes have forced some nicer weather our way and we were able to take advantage of a GREAT weekend. Light winds. Warm (if not hot!). Good turnouts this weekend too.

We have some new interest in HEFA from some traffic on the MacKay. They were at SP Saturday to check us out and then back today.... they are thinking that they will return for an introductory flight next weekend when their schedules permit.

In the meantime, we also have some interest from the Nova Scotia Flight Sim group. One person from this group - Charlie - was at SP both Saturday and Sunday. I had him up for a flight each day. The sim really helps - but the orientation is certainly different... especially when it is coming towards us. There will be some more members at SP next weekend to learn about RC - really a fantastic 'marriage' with an overall fascination with flight.

Saturday morning was foggy (in places!) at the start. We captured a few images from a quadcopter as the fog was dissipating. Neat shots of Tufts Cover as well of the MacKay Bridge!

Today proved to be a bit of a challenge for some models - all repairable.

Next weekend we are also gearing for another BBQ. More to follow.

Stay safe - see you next weekend!!

Brian
