I've seen that video before and thought about building it but I've never been able to find surgical tubing unless I order it online which I could I guess

HobbyKing have two grades, their "blue" stuff is the better I'm told, and is thicker.

Bungee cord is available in 2 different diameters in BULK from Princess Auto. I bought about 6 metres for my catapult launcher.

The white plastic pipe is available at Kent in Bayers Lake. Back of the store on an end of aisle. Small quantities of fittings available as well. Making mine 5' long as the pipe comes in 10' lengths. Mine is partially glued and the rest is held by hitch clips so the unit can come apart. Have to finish the trigger. Bungee and main line are done.

I used 100 pound test hard nylon cord.

I have 3D printed a hook for my Skywalker X-5. Other bungee hook designs are on www.thingiverse.com

For safety, have a safety lock to prevent misfire. Usually a pin that keeps the release from sliding the ring off the pin.

Also the long wood lever should be heavier towards the release pin, by making sure the pivot point is towards the foot pedal end. I am trying to come up with a pull cable release.

The frame has to be well secured to the ground. Multiple, long steel spikes are required for the frame. The anchor for the tension cord must be well done. Imagine a steel stake flying back towards the pilot as he is tensioning the bungee cord. It may require something like a pair of 1/2" rebar 20 inches long.

Which of the two diameters do you suggest?
