Great job Terry, that looks like a speedster for sure! The ice on the lake is beautiful right now and I'm just about to go out with my EasyStar to get some aerial video. I don't know how well the camera is going to work at -12C but we shall see...

That thing looks awesome.
Looks like it needs my ATTOPILOT on it which, in spite of the fact that is not fully functional on automatic, will still record heading, ground speed, altitude (if it does happen to take off) and a whole lot of additional data. And we can plot up the path on Google earth.

That's a great idea John........I like the part about the ground speed ............Bill and I ran some trials on Sunday at PaperMill............she was fast .....it had a few steering problems ......she's getting a rudder as per Bills suggestion and few supports and screws here and there....pictures to follow

Which way does that thing go? is the long boom and steering unit in front?
If so it would have a much stronger turning effect and could lead to "digging in", than if it was trailing behind.

modification are complete....added a rudder......the steering servo had stripped gears....any ideas on a tougher servo or softer linkage?

I doubt that the rudder located over the main skids will provide any turning effect. All it will do is to try and move the skids sideways. A rudder has to have some turning moment about the main support centre.
It's like putting a boat rudder on the keel centre. (or putting a Bow thruster at thew CG of a ship)
