Trevor, I've collected the required parts in the past few weeks; including the 90mm fan and 100 amp esc as well as a couple of flat elevon servos. Now it's just a matter of clearing off the bench and getting at it..!

this is going to be increadable. I have a 90mm fan assembly 6 blade I think would you like to have it for a backup?

They had a special on them at $79.00 Now they are at $99.00 This one has 11 blades, should sound nice.

The February project..Mirage2000 has begun.

The wing came with the Elevons attached with a couple of wraps of fiberglas packing tape..! Looked like crap and made you wonder how long it would hold up. So it was removed and both the wing trailing edge and the Elevon leading edge were cut off and replaced with balsa strips. The Elevon was beveled and several pin hinges were glued in (epoxy).

The bottom of the wing has a depron cover that gets removed for the servo install and wire routing, then it gets glued into place. Since this will be a belly-lander, I'm going to operate the Elevons from the top of the wing, so the servo arms were lengthened to provide sufficient throw.

After the depron covers are glued in place, covers for the servos will be installed.

That is a very nice looking jet. Did you find any other potential issues that may fail and what servos are you using? Looks like some thin wing servos there?

It's a kit from "Fly-Fly Hobby" that has been around for some years. Basic instructions are terrible, just a single sheet of parts blow-up. However there is a great thread on RCGroups where the builder has a ton of pictures and great commentary. That helps a lot.
He actually goes into too much detail in some instances.

The servos are from Hobbyking and were around $20. each I believe. They are metal geared, and have a Torque rating of 92 ozs on 4.8 volts and 114 ozs on 6 volts. The weight of them is 30 grams each. Since they are the only servos (if I don't do a rudder) I threw some extra cash in favor of eliminating any possible extra Elevon movement, when cruising at 110 kms an hour..!
