Cleanup after using CA debonder

Unread post by RonStuart » Wed Oct 04, 2017 9:22 pm

In changing the mounting tabs inside the cowling of my DHC-2 Beaver from a screw mounting system to magnet mounts, I had to debond three of the four new mounting tabs and will be re-installing them. The debonder did its job effectively but I am left with a mess of sticky, gooey residue. After trying more debonder, then alcohol, neither of which has been effective, it occurs to me that somebody more experienced than I probably has the answer to this cleanup challenge. Thanks in advance for your help. Ron

Try methyl hydrate, you can get that stuff at Canadian Tire in the paint section. Not expensive, besides it works great on defrosting car door locks.
