Yes, I look at them and I'm semi blinded for several minutes. They should show up nicely on a cloudy day.

I mentioned in the video that the LED set with controller was around $16.00 US on ebay. Well of course that's $25.00 Can. and I added those two LED flaslights from Princess Auto, (landing lights), at about $8.00 and $5.00 of extension wire so to set the record straight, total outlay would be around $40.00

I opened up the roll of Solartex (Olive Drab colour) purchase back in November from Balsa USA and I'm impressed with the fine weave of this material. So fine in fact that I took a hand-punch that you would use to punch holes in paper and put a couple holes in this material and then tugged on it and it does not seem to rip further. I did this because I may have to punch holes at the wing tips for the LEDs to shine through. If I do this I may have to iron a second layer onto the tip where the hole is.

The covering process has begun, and is going well. This Solartex is another product from the Solarfilm company and is produced in England. I bought the 5 yard roll of "Olive Drab" and after using enough to cover the tail feathers I still had nearly five yards left, so they are generous with their roll sizing. This stuff is simple great to work with, tough as nails, yet easy to apply, shrinks with a moderate heat, and looks great.

The pictures here show three steps...cut the material to approximate size,...tack it on all sides,.....shrink it tight and open the window areas.

I took a sample to the paint store where they mixed me a litre of mat finish Olive Drab that is very close, if not bang on, to the Solartex colour. So if anyone needs some Olive Drab acrylic paint , let me know..!

...the top covering was a test for the ability of the Solartex to shrink properly without pulling off from the stringers....it passed..!

I'm still liking this stuff..!

The designer, Adrian, was adamant in the instructions that the Cub vertical stab was not to be just braced with some balsa triangle and covered...but that the stab was to be "faired" into the fuselage with the covering. First time for me on doing this and I give myself an 8 out of 10...! He is correct that it gives a nice look, and more importantly to him, it gives a "scale look".
