It is going to be a real pain in the buttocks to get the wings off and on for transport.
The strut screws are very hard to get at plus you keep dropping them in the nacels and the grass.
So maybe I can transport with the wings attached if if I gear up a stand for the truck.

Good Heavens David;
How could you even contemplate a Twin Otter without Canadian markings. Putting US markings on it is like putting US markings on an Avro Arrow.
The DH Beaver, Otter and Twin Otter are sacred to the evolution and development of Northern Canada.
In my active mineral exploration career, I have spent countless hours in all three, quite often over loaded with rock samples and canoes strapped to the floats.
Although I am not a scale modeller at heart, over 43 years flying in these beauties has stamped them in my memories.

Sorry about the US markings but if there was one with Canadian I would of been all over it.
It is a beautiful plane and must of been nice to fly in. It must of taken you into a lot of remote areas and it is so great on short takeoff and landings.
One of my good customers a former Canjet Pilot was in the shop the other day and said he used to actually pilot a similar plane to the twin otter I cant remember the name he said a British ...? twin engine hi wing and loved it.

Re: Hangar 9 Twin Otter 82"
Congrats Dave...glad the maiden went well.
I think we need to get some power figures to know for sure what the two motors are putting out, before you consider a motor upgrade. Maybe a prop change first....eh..!

Good point.
So hears the thing. Im kicking myself in the butt I didn't put power 32s in it now. What I really want to do is use 3 blade master airscrew props with countering rotating props.
The tru turn spinners, one being custom made, will cost me about $ 150 bucks or so plus you have to put in power 32s due to their lack of performance compared to an apc prop.
Check out this video.
I might consider this over the winter.
Doesn't it sound awesome!

Well, to quote a good friend of mine...."that's what I'm talking about...Jack.."!
Yup, what a great sound...definitely the way to go..."a big set of counter rotating twins"....are we still talking models..!
Time to start preparing that Xmas wish list, Dave..
