This clock was hand carved from solid oak in the late 1800's. When I was 15 I came across it in the family business and renovated it with a wind-up car clock movement. the movement is long since gone. It was gaggy with numerous layers of goopy varnish. With the intricate carving it was a pain to clean up. I am awaiting a bezel and domed glass from the US. The dial is a scanned copy of another Wall-wagger German clock which I have. This clock dates back to the late 1700's and has brass bushed wooden plates and a wood Dial with numerals and scrolls hand painted on a domed plaster coating.
I have also refurbished a Vienna Regulator clock which I have traced by serial number to Bavaria in 1869 or 1870. My father always claimed that this was in our family business when it was founded in 1869 and used it to point out that it was proof that we were good craftsmen but useless as salesmen, as we were never able to sell it.
I still have three other clocks to finish.

Thats pretty cool John. You had better take the motors off and get that back on the wall before you get "beat" by the boss......lol ;)

Also, it is so special, you brought Paul E. Wogg out of seclusion. Where has he been ?

Dave: "time flies"....very nice !

Great to hear from you !

I wondered what had happened to you and your son as you were always at the field. I thought you had probably moved away.....

Talk soon

PS: Keep an eye out on this forum. I may have something particularly of interest to you

Look forward to it! Now I'm curious :)
The band thing took all my time, and when it felt like a job, and not a hobby, it was time to leave...
Justin went west to seek his fortune a year ago, but is coming home next week finally...be nice to have him home.
Looking forward to building and crashing...building...and crashing....and crashing....did anyone move that pole?
