Thanks Marc,
Too bad you can't make it out tomorrow, if the weather is bad I'll put it off till next weekend.
Hopefully it goes well, took quite a while to put it back together. I put the white markings on same as the banana hobby site, if I get it in the air I hope they help with the orientation. Added the starts to the tail as well last night.
Not sure how to enlarge the wheels unless I don't retract them when in the air, they're in pretty tight to the compartment when retracted. Hoping for a bit of head wind inline with the runway tomorrow to lower the ground speed on take off.

SU-47 Crash June 2013
SU-47 Crash June 2013
Hey Mark,
Well, the SU-47 is back in the shop. I put some new heavier batteries in it to try to get a bit of extra air time. 2 x 3000 mah 4S Zippy's. It struggled to get airborn with the extra weight but I got a circuit in with it before I got too cocky and tried a roll. It lost almost all it's altitude in the roll and ended up landing it unside down on the runway...not pretty. Pretty sure the pilot bought the farm this time.

Started to rebuild it as it's an interesting looking plane even if it's not a great flyer. Not sure if I'm going to get it back together this time, as you can see lots of peices still missing from the rudders and I'm not really sure what piece is what in the jigsaw puzzle that remains of the nose.

Robert,

There sure are a lot of small pieces... you will be busy for a while restoring the plane to a flying state. At least it will keep you out of trouble :-)

I'll have one go at it and see how much I can paste together. If too many pieces of the puzzle are missing I might just take you up on the bag n tag suggestion.

Bannana hobbies has the airframe only. Although, the specs call for 6s batts and motors.

I looked at that but it's over 200 with shipping to get a new airframe. I would get the replacement F22 over the SU47 as it's a better flier. They don't have just the nose section in stock, it's really all I need and it think it is only 20 bucks. It's just about back together though, just a bit missing on the front nose. Might post a pic later today on the progress. I'm a sucker for a challenge, like doing a jigsaw puzzle that's been crushed.
