That is very good news. Now if the bill can get passed without further amendment affecting this part, it should at least preserve the status quo.

I guess the above post covered the bill getting passed in the US Senate with the amendment that the FAA would have no control over model aviation.
That's half of the case I believe..
This link discusses the fact that the same bill with amendment now has to get through the House of Representatives.

I got this from following a link provided by Horizon Hobby...who are campaigning on behalf of the hobby that the FAA do not wind up controlling model aviation.
