ABS thermoplastic 'Lego' has been cut and installed as the cabin floor. So far, a net increase of 20 grams under the C.G. Has been added to the model.

Dennis, I felt this picture you posted needed more study as it obviously took some time for you to prepare.
So I rotated it, and cropped it, to get a better look.
This will definitely not be your average Apprentice S..

In order to pull the entire cradle out of the cabin, I need to develop a lightweight coupler/decoupler for all three pushrods. Tonight I am experimenting with three DUB137 1/16" brass collars on the section of the nose wheel pushrod that lies above the cradle floor. Three collars with Allen screws weighs about 2 grams.

Glued two couplers together this morning and will install them on my operational Apprentics this afternoon. Bolt cutters will be used to cut the nose wheel pushrod at the desired point and then the system will be tested in the lab. Also working my way through the Spektrum DX6 manual in detail.

Coupler installed on the nose wheel pushrod and works well in the lab. Will take it out in the backyard for some serious taxiing this afternoon. I used CA adhesive to bond the two collars together.

If you rough up the collars to remove the chrome plating you should be able to solder them together since they are brass. I don't think I'd trust CA on metal to be vibration proof.

Browsing online I discovered what I need. It's called a set screw shaft coupler. Going shopping around to see if I can find some locally.

i have a bit of a question about your coupling of the brass collars on the rod to the nosewheel steering and how it operates.
It seems a bit of an overcomplication. As one who is too stupid to invent complex systems, I use the simplest mechanisms possible.
Could you explain the purpose of the collars and what they do?
