what to recommend to a raw novice

Unread post by rhyneheimer » Sun Oct 30, 2011 1:00 pm

my bother-in-law wants a kit electric plane. he has no gear whatsoever. he has a soccer field he can fly in, but would like to slope soar as well. i don't think he wants a flying wing. the hobby king Bixler caught his eye, an EPO pusher 4 channel belly lander similar in appearance to the Easystar and Skysurfer. i have no experience with any of these kits, or that type of plane, but i've seen them fly and they seem to have a nice range of performance, plus pretty rugged. any thoughts? many thanks for any recommendations you guys might have!

Hi Steve...I would not hesitate to suggest the Bixler...very much a copy of the EasyStar with a better price...and in his case he WOULD be able to use it later at the slope.

The other advantage with HK is that all the accessories required for this model are usually listed under it...so all he has to do is "click away" and he gets everything at one time..!

The Bixler is the same plane as the Sky Surfer that John Walker has.
Flies great both at Shannon and on the slope.
